I assumed that Steve had brought the wee ornament downstairs but, when I asked him, he said he thought I had put it there. We were both momentarily confused. There were no other decorations downstairs, and no one else had been in our basement in over a year.

Suddenly, I knew the answer. It was a sign from Dad! He had come to visit us in spirit form, to let us know that he was alive and well. He chose an ornament that he had carved, and which had his name written on it, to ensure that we knew he had been there. The message could not have been clearer.

This amazing realization filled me with profound joy. I excitedly shared the news with my mother and, as we chatted on the phone, two separate strands of Christmas lights suddenly lit up her living room. Dad was giving us another sign! When our time comes to leave this plane, they will be there to welcome us back Home.
