The Riverview Holistic Fair 2014 set a benchmark for community‑driven wellness gatherings, and its volunteer spirit, exhibitor creativity, and heart‑centered atmosphere still inspire events today.
What We Learned and Why It Still Matters
Another successful Riverview Holistic Fair has been completed. Just before going to bed – very early, I should mention – I received a message inquiring about what Kim and I did differently this time. The fair felt reminiscent of the past ones, yet the energy was more vibrant, fresh, and loving. As I fell asleep, I pondered what had changed, and the answer came to me: The fair’s success was due to all of us working together.
Riverview Holistic Fair 2014: Volunteer Heroes Who Shaped the Event
- Kim, my amazing wife, who dedicates long hours behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly, even when I’m not organized at all.
- Wes C., who sacrificed his own weekend, showed up Sunday morning, and cleaned the front entrance with his own salt.
- Our volunteers, who warmly welcome each visitor and keep the doors open.
- Tina A. and her daughter Maya, who, noticing I was pressed for time Saturday morning, cleaned the plaster-dust-covered chairs in the newly renovated classroom so everyone had a tidy place to sit.
- Jean and Dany R., who stayed after the event to help me clean up, without ever being asked.
These are just a few glimpses of the fair’s spirit. Many other moments contributed to the overall experience.
Exhibitor Highlights: Ideas That Still Work Today
Every exhibitor – whether you attended one day, both days, or, like Shivaraj, presented only – brought your enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing your unique expression of the divine with the holistic community.
What makes the ‘Little Fair with a Big Heart’ unique is the safe, supportive, loving environment we create together. In that space, we can love and be loved for who we are. The heart, after all, cannot be denied.
To each of you who participated, who shared your uniqueness, who opened your hearts, thank you. I appreciate you, I love you, and I’m thankful for every moment we experienced together.
