Healing Haikus: Gentle Poetry to Calm the Mind and Body

There’s something about a haiku that calms the entire system. It’s like a deep breath presented in poetic form. Just a few simple lines of poetry, and suddenly you’re back in your body, recalling things you already knew but somehow forgot along the way.

I created these healing haikus over the years as gentle reminders for my clients and for myself. They serve as tiny invitations to return to the present, ease self-judgment, and reconnect with the quiet wisdom within you. Think of them as little tuning forks for the soul.

Take your time with them. Let one resonate with you, or read through the entire collection. There’s no wrong way.

The Haiku Collection

You are that dream. Learn now to
Wake within the dream

Self-Love and Inner Freedom

The freedom to be
Is a most wonderful gift
To give to yourself

You deserve your love
And to be loved – remember
You’re one of a kind

Your health will improve
When you start loving yourself
Instead of judging

Love as a Path

Set your paradigm
Inwardly and outwardly
To be filled with Love

The love in your heart
Is to be shared with the Earth
And all Her children

Nature and Stillness

Sit still in nature
Release all pent up tensions
Let inner peace bloom

Mystical moonlight
Imbued with Goddess magic
Bathing us in love

Self-Reflection and Growth

Focus on yourself
Be more loving, forgiving
Then do for others

Unique expression
Of all the love you are is
Your gift to the world

The embodiment
Of all that is lay within
Your heart’s potential

Presence

Stay in the moment,
Try to capture it you risk
Missing its essence

Stop over-thinking
Or doing what’s expected
Simply … be … yourself

Courage and the Heart

Following your heart
Takes great determination
And self-acceptance

Your true potential
Is only limited by
Your degree of doubt

Healing and Inner Wisdom

Stress fractures the mind
Avoidance is ego’s trap
Love’s the soul’s cure

There’s a belief that
Suppressing a symptom’s
A cure: it is wrong

Compassion and Forgiveness

Hatred leads nowhere
For spiritual progress
Practice forgiveness

Love makes us unique,
One of a kind, while ego
Fears diversity

Shadow Work and Truth

All types of bullies,
Including spiritual,
Hide deep self-loathing

A Closing Reflection

What I appreciate about haikus is how they guide you back to what’s simple and real. They don’t force; they gently suggest. Healing often works similarly. When you take the time to listen, your body relaxes, your mind stops holding on so tightly, and you begin to recall who you truly are beneath all the “shoulds.”

If any of these little poems touched your heart or helped you breathe a little deeper, then they’ve fulfilled their purpose. Let them be reminders that you can revisit when you need stability, clarity, or a gentle push back toward your own inner wisdom.
