When Writing Turns into Wrestling With the Ego<\/h2>\n

My second blog has taken much longer to develop than I anticipated. I kept telling myself it was due to work, home responsibilities, and the usual life challenges. Those are valid excuses on the surface. However, the true reason became clear when I found myself sweating over my laptop, struggling to write a simple post. My ego had returned and taken control.<\/p>\n

The Struggle Behind a Simple Blog Post<\/h2>\n

As an energy healer<\/a>, part of my journey involves learning to ease that internal drive to perform or impress. I thought I had made significant progress. I recognized there was still a long way to go, but I genuinely believed I was heading in the right direction. Discovering that I wasn\u2019t as advanced as I thought was not exactly motivating. I wanted this second blog to be straightforward, elegant, and somehow impactful enough to transform lives. Setting such high expectations only made everything I wrote feel flat and unsatisfactory.<\/p>\n

Why Ego Shows Up on the Spiritual Healing Path<\/h2>\n

I\u2019m still at the beginning of my awakening journey as a shamanic healer. When I finally accepted that, I realized how unrealistic it was to expect to provide profound, life-altering insights on demand. That little realization made it clear: my ego was very much alive, thriving, and enjoying the attention.<\/p>\n

Finding Guidance in an Unexpected Place<\/h2>\n

At that moment, I was uncertain about my next steps. Then a random memory surfaced of a Gary Larson cartoon featuring a cat beneath a very full bird\u2019s nest. One thought led to another, and my gaze fell on my deck of Power Animal Oracle Cards<\/a>. I had grown up hearing about animal guides. As a child, I thought the concept was fascinating; later, I dismissed it as charming; and when I eventually encountered Tarot, all the drama surrounding it pushed me even further away.<\/p>\n

Fox Spirit Meaning Adaptability Above All<\/h2>\n

So when I first encountered the animal cards, I was doubtful. But I decided to give them a chance…and then another. Their messages were clear, grounded.<\/p>\n

I picked up the deck and sought guidance. The card that came up was Fox.<\/p>\n

The main message of Fox is to be adaptable: embrace the changes instead of fighting against them. Is it a coincidence? Perhaps. But the message resonates, regardless of your belief in signs. Advice remains valuable.<\/p>\n

According to the guidebook, the Fox states, “Avoid getting trapped in rigid thoughts, patterns, or familiar emotional cycles. Adjust to the situation instead of trying to force the situation to adjust to you”. There\u2019s more to learn about the Fox, but that\u2019s a topic for another time. For now, the clear takeaway is to adapt. It may seem obvious, but often we overlook the obvious.<\/p>\n

The fact that I\u2019m writing this indicates the message was effective. Sometimes we all need a gentle push, a reminder to change, to be flexible, and to flow with life instead of resisting it.<\/p>\n

Adaptation vs. Expectation: The Lesson I Needed<\/h2>\n

Recently, I was having trouble with a much younger colleague for whom things were not going well. The trouble stemmed from his attitude and losing patience. I snapped at a younger coworker who was having a tough time. I told him, “Adapt or die. It\u2019s one of nature\u2019s simplest rules”. This helped him overcome his slump, and things improved afterward. Ironically, if I had followed my own advice earlier, I could have avoided a lengthy struggle with procrastination and pride.<\/p>\n
