To Believe or Not To Believe

Cognitive Dissonance

destructive-ideasHave you ever read a spiritual book or article that shakes you to the core and leaves you questioning everything you believe? That happened to me a year ago. I read an article by Cameron Day called Why I’m No Longer a Lightworker. In it he states that channelers are being deceived, lightworkers are being used, and archangels are really archons. He advocates breaking free of the New (c)Age movement by breaking your soul contracts with all the polarized players (Team Light vs. Team Dark) in the Corrupt Demiurge.

If you have never read this article before, and you consider yourself a lightworker, I caution you: it may cause a great deal of spiritual and cognitive dissidence. That is because the concepts fly in the face of everything members of the lightworker community have been told. When we are faced with such divergent ideas, we experience discomfort, bordering on psychological pain.

I am not going to comment on the contents of the article itself*. I am however going to address the effects of entertaining divergent ideas on your spiritual path.

*(If you are interested in reading an insightful perspective on the aforementioned article, I recommend The Misunderstood Matrix of Karma, Reincarnation, and Soul Contracts by Deus Nexus | David Nova.)

Spiritual Awakening is Destructive

In 3-D we were living with severely limited awareness which kept us in the dark, so to speak. Our old beliefs were based on past experiences that were more limited in scope and awareness than our present awareness. We filled in the blanks and extrapolated based on our limited understanding.

As we started to move our awareness outward, we encountered new ideas, concepts and paradigms which caused our beliefs to first fracture, then shatter, and then finally dissolve. But the new ideas we have so happily embraced, the ones some of us may attribute to being a lightworker or New Ager, will soon be replaced by yet another paradigm. And then those beliefs will be dissolved by the Light of higher understanding. On and on the process goes, until finally all our beliefs will melt away, and we will all be reunited as One divine consciousness.

That means ALL ideas will eventually dissolve until only Love remains.

Staying Open and Relaxed

During this process it is essential to stay open to new concepts. You must be willing to release the old in order to embrace the new. This process is positively destructive and can be painful depending on how attached you are to your beliefs. Staying open and relaxed as you encounter paradigm-challenging ideas is the key to avoiding pain.

Employing Discernment

When I advocate staying open, I do not mean that you should believe everything you read or hear. I am simply suggesting that you not resist the re-education process. Stay open, consider all concepts, but then only take away the parts of the concepts that resonate with you. That means checking in with your body to see how an idea feels. Another technique is to check in with your heart and soul.

A new idea may feel uncomfortable at first, but it should not hurt you. If you feel physical discomfort or emotional distress (i.e. nausea, anxiety) immediately release the concept. Do not give it another conscious thought. It could be that your soul is taking a different journey that the person who presented the idea or perhaps the concept came to you prematurely. If that is the case, the idea will resurface at a later date.

Do Not Rush the Process

While you entertain new ideas do not force anything you are not yet ready to accept. You may want to move more quickly through the reawakening process, but each of us has an ideal speed. Do not be concerned about others who appear to have left you behind. You have nothing to prove!

If you feel challenged by others’ beliefs, recognize that this feeling stems from ego and not spirit. You soul cannot be threatened by concepts, nor is it in a race with anyone else. You will not be left behind. In fact, we are all going through the awakening both collectively and individually. Whatever stage you are at is the one that is perfect for you at this time.

Trust Where You Are

rock-climbingI liken the awakening and ascension process to climbing a mountain. If you are midway up the cliff face, and you lose your footing, who do you call out to for help – the guru on the mountaintop or the person immediately above you? Wherever you find yourself now is exactly right for you. Follow the natural progression of awakening, and do not be in a rush to master the guru level. Take it one step at a time.

As for those of you who are healers and/or intuitives, do not worry about the changing paradigms that do not (yet) resonate. You do not need to abandon everything you know (i.e. healing with angels). Your beliefs will appeal to a certain segment of the population who need your specific type of help.

Life Makes Use of All Possibilities

The bottom line here is to not to be threatened, or adversely impacted, by divergent beliefs. Life makes use of all possibilities. That means every idea, concept and paradigm is playing out. As a result, there are as many pathways back to Source as there are beings in existence. It is up to each of us to follow our own path. Knowing how to find YOUR truth each step of the climb is the key.

  1. Hi Kim. I have enjoyed many of your posts so I thought I’d comment on this issue. I read Cameron Day’s post some months ago, among other similar posts, and I was a little dismayed that so many spiritual people were adopting this paradigm without question or discernment. I felt a calling to address the confusion and cognitive dissonance, so I wrote a post called “The Misunderstood Matrix of Karma, Reincarnation, and Soul Contracts.” I wanted to share it with you and your readers, as it has been helpful for many of mine.

    1. Hi David,

Thank you so much for your comment, and for sharing your wonderfully enlightening article! Your words resonate deeply with me.

On a side note, when I sat down to write my article, I originally had planned to address many of the same issues that you have covered so well in your post. Spirit moved me in a different direction, and now I understand why. 🙂

      Thank you again,
      Kim
