A new woman came into my life a few days ago. (Not the normal opening for a fifty-two year old married man’s monthly musing, I readily admit.) One has to be open to go with the flow, as I have long preached and it is time I did more than just talk the talk.
Beatrix, for sake of clarification, is a bamboo plant of indeterminable age – “A lady never tells”, she reminds me – who informed me she has had the pleasure of several moves of late. “One step ahead of the law”, I quip to her utter un-amusement. Plant humour is not known to be seedy; plants equate these types of jokes to human puns, which they would rather leaf alone. Sorry, at the root of it, I like puns so Beatrix and I, one might surmise, have gotten off to a rocky start. Well, one would be wrong.
Despite the wear and tear (quite literally – though not intentionally, she realizes) of the moves, her energy feels vibrant and is flowing quite strongly and harmoniously. To be honest, I have not done a lot of energy work with larger plants or trees. I do give our few house plants energy treatments, and I thoroughly enjoy and am awed when experiencing a tree’s energy; there is more to tree hugging than meets the eye. I have, however, struggled to ‘map’ out a tree’s chakra system; however, one of the benefits of meeting Beatrix has been to discover that, no matter its size, a plant’s chakra system is quite evolved. Besides, having a major chakra system as we humans do, their ‘minor’ chakras play a very important role in their life cycle. Many of these minor chakras are satellites or ‘seedlings’, if you will, of the major chakras, helping to look after, not only the greater distances between the major chakras, but areas where branching may occur or leaves may be growing. Plants are much more sentient than I first thought and much more individualized. In the word of Mr. Spock, “Fascinating”.
While all of this is a learning experience for me, the beauty of it is that I do not have to totally understand the ins and outs of a plant’s energy field. I merely have to unite with Beatrix’s energy field and become a conduit for the healing energy to enter into her field so that she may continue to grow and prosper, much the same way I do for people and animals.
I am looking at plants in a whole new light and am left with a bit of a quandary. With plants being every bit as alive as animals, and with man-made foods (a.k.a. Monsanto) being poisonous from the genetic level on up, what are we supposed to eat?
