Reading your animal companion’s energy
As your relationship with your animal companion deepens do you begin to notice shifts in his or her personality? Is he anxious, angry, depressed or unnaturally happy? Do her eating and sleeping habits shift? Do you notice a correlation between how your companion is acting and how you are feeling? Are you aware of how much comfort your companion is trying to offer you? What do these shifts signify?
Benefits of animal companionship
- On the physical level, an animal, especially a dog, requires regular exercise. This physical activity helps him burn off excess stress, and at the same time, aids you in relieving your stress levels.
- The calming, relaxing effects of petting a cat or dog cannot be overemphasized. This act of giving and receiving unconditional love recharges a person’s batteries like nothing else.
- Noticing how your companion is behaving can help you to become more self-aware. When your dog is stressed or anxious do you notice that you are the same? Pay attention.
The Downside of this relationship
Unfortunately, the one negative aspect of such a relationship is the adverse effects that may be manifesting in your animal companion. Animals can only process so much stress at a time. If they are removing a lot of our stress, their chakra system and energy field can become overtaxed. Emotional stress from us can overwork or even block their sacral and solar plexus chakras. That in turn can lead to physical symptoms such as rashes and allergies, and to mental/emotional manifestations such as neurosis. No matter how the stress manifests, it should not be ignored.
What can be done?
- Exercise is required to help a dog suffering from stress.
- Energy healing is highly beneficial for both dogs and cats.
- Having a corresponding healing for yourself will help you and your animal companion heal together, and will help you both to become more proactive in your relationship with stress.
Stress is a part of life but it does not have to run either of your lives. Your animal companion loves you unconditionally. Being aware of them in mind, body and spirit is one of the greatest gifts you can give them, and yourself in return.
